Drink ‘em if you Got ‘em
iFanboy is out this morning with a glowing review, not of issue 6, but of the entire “Welcome to Lovecraft” arc. I swear I didn’t pay reviewer Chris Neseman to write it. Neseman also thoughtfully started his article off with a recipe for a high octane Bloody Mary; I plan to mix one up tonight and drink it in his honor (yeah, his review is that good). More critics, in my opinion, should include drink mixes and cooking tips in their essays. I should note that my stuff also always reads better after a Bloody Mary or three.

Cool.

I don’t really drink, but I do have to appreciate any libation that contains a “Sausage-Olive-Cheese-Olive-Cheese-Olive-Sausage” skewer in it.
As for the review… congrats! And yes, we have been applauding Joe & Gabriel here, but Jay Fotos deserves mucho praise as well.

(And letterer Robbie Robbins. Although I don’t really know how all elements of lettering work, I did notice and appreciate at least 3 different styles of writing in the series…)

That is a GREAT review! I like that person, they make reviews very entertaining! Wow, Congrats, Joe & Gabriel – L&K is his favorite :0)
Cheers!

WOW!! That’s just phenomenal!! What a review!!
Now other people will hopefully find out what we already know!
That Locke & Key ROCKS!!!

Man, I’d love to try one of those Bloody Marys! Is it 5 o’clock yet?
What a fantastic review and completely dead on. I’m so happy L&K is getting the recognition it deserves. Everything Mr. Neseman said was exactly right. Congrats again Joe and Gabriel. And Jay as well! The stars must have been aligned perfectly in the heavens when you guys got together.
(And Joe…I NEVER drink and read. It’s way too dangerous.)

It’s easy to write about stuff you love.
We’ve been screaming from the tallest podcast mountain (very similar to the speed bump on your street) about Locke & Key since it came out. I would go on and on about how much I love this book, but everyone here already knows how awesome it is…
Joe & Crew,
Thanks for making a kick ass book that has given me a lot of enjoyment.

Ive never had a bloody mary..i may try it..since Chris supplied the recipe for a headache tomorrow.

Yeah, I’ll drink that Bloody Mary – in part to congratulate both Joe and Gabriel on a damned fine job, but also to commiserate losing Manny to the Dodgers.
I’ll have to rename it: a Bloody Manny being Manny.

LOL, Rio….Yep, bye bye Manny :0( Someone told me the trade is a back door way of getting him over to the Yankees.

Drinks and good comics, perfect together.
Chris’ review of the series on Around Comics turned me onto the book and I’m thrilled about it, it’s easily one of the best examples of sequential illustrated fiction in print today.

Fuckin sweet review, and that drink….OMFG! sounds yummy!

Ouch, This_Girl. Manny in pinstripes? I think that would actually sting more than Judas – I mean JOHNNY Damon. Still, to keep this from becoming a baseball thread, I would just like to say again how much I have enjoyed Locke & Key.
Poisonlily … you took the expletives right out of my mouth.

Chris,
Well, thanks again for the kind words; I didn’t know about the podcast, but I’ll check it out.
Tonight, the Sox without Manny? 1 – 1 going into the 73rd inning.

Sorry, but I refuse to call it Fen-Bay Park on the strength of a walkoff single. Good job, nonetheless. Still, to keep this from becoming a baseball thread, I would just like to say again how much I have enjoyed Locke & Key.
