Day 2: Manchester
I wanted to thank everyone who braved the blizzard to come to the book launch event at River Run last night; thanks, also, to everyone who called in and ordered a book or two ahead of time. In spite of the weather, it was a lot of fun, and a great way to kick off the release of HORNS.
If you were snowed out of the River Run signing, you can catch me tonight at the Barnes & Noble in Manchester, NH, at 7PM. If that doesn’t work, maybe another date will. My whole tour schedule is here. And if you can’t make any of the readings/signings, most bookstores are glad to ship you a signed book, as long as you’re buying the stamps. River Run has quite a few signed copies of HORNS (and LOCKE & KEY, and 20TH CENTURY GHOSTS, and even a couple 1st editions of HEART-SHAPED BOX).
In other news, the new issue of LOCKE & KEY is out, at least in the west, but has been delayed a week or two on the east coast. A truck delivering IDW’s mid-February titles was involved in an accident – a bad one, I’m afraid. My understanding is that the driver was seriously injured; my thoughts are with him and his family. I hope he’s all right, and that he has a fast, full recovery.

I went to Barnes & Noble in Manchester, NH to pick up a Horns today and I have to say the staff is really excited to have you come there. I have never seen a store with more smiles about an appearance in my whole life. It made me sad because I can’t make it back to Manchester tonight. I’m gonna try my best to get to your Toadstool Bookstore appearance Friday. Can’t wait to start Horns and The New Dead too.
My prayers are with that IDW driver for a full recovery too.

Wow. Thoughts are with the driver for a speedy recovery!
And thanks for reading one of my fav parts of the book last night! I really enjoyed your reading! And thanks to YOU for braving the snow and still having the reading!

I live in central Florida and just bought the new Locke & Key #3 so at least you know some areas of the east have the new issue out. I should say my comic book guy is pretty well hooked up so maybe that’s why he had a copy of the new issue and thank GOD! I also bought Horns and will begin reading it soon. I hope the driver is alright. I would say that Target didn’t have Horns but Books A Million did and right up front to. First the comics and then Horns. Is what’s on the inside Morse code? I hope I spelled that right. On a sad note I would like to say I don’t see any pictures in Horns and that saddens me somewhat. I know people say you don’t need artwork in books but I enjoy looking at it. If that makes me simple in the minds of others they can blow me.

Yep. Morse code. For “Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name” Very clever. I loved it.

YEah, like to send some prayers out to the driver and his family.

That’s sad…put me down for some prayers too. Geez.
I did get my copy of L&K plus the variant today, so like phil/larry I don’t have to wait. Great issue…but more questions!

Seriously, come to the midwest – I’ll take you to dinner, I won’t cook for you – I’d like you to keep writing!!

Joe will you be making a visit in Texas? Please???
February 17th, 2010 at 10:17 pm
Very sorry to hear about the accident. My thoughts are with him and his family.
Had one ordered for my husband, too.
I can live without ‘em of course, but I do like them….Don’t think your simple.
Can’t wait to get HORNS from River Run
Phil17Larry33 (larry bird?) – I love me some pictures

I’m with Annie on this one: we need you in Texas. Then again, being in Lubbock, I would still have to probably drive 7-9 hours to see you if you did. Ah well, close enough that I would maybe just have to do it.
