There Will Be Pictures
There just aren’t any yet, because I only got to England very late, and what the hell am I supposed to photograph at nearly midnight? Did anyone really want a picture of the salad I ordered from room service?
The UK Tour kicks off today. I’ll be signing at the Waterstone’s at Midsummer’s Place in Milton Keynes at 13:00 (no reading). Then we’re racing off to Birmingham – I’ll be reading and signing at the Waterstone’s there on High Street at 18:00. Come on out.

Glad you made it safe and sound, Joe. And some pics would be lovely…a visit to England is on my Bucket List! And don’t forget to mention any interesting sights and food…that is, if you have time!

We’re still waiting for the Bangor pictures, Joe!

Hey Mighty Joe –
Way over there…we patriots wonder if you could, once or twice, return to your Day 9 entry – “Sharing the best question of the evening…personal funnest.”
The one on which monster we’d be was a hoot…gave the site not only your personal touch – twisted with HORNS aura, also ignited the crowd.
Stay safe…shuffling in the Midnight fog loud enough may draw the Ripper. Bag ‘im, reason with ‘im, then divide ‘im.

If nothing else we want a picture of the salad! We all know what Big Ben looks like, but now how will be ever know if the UK is into ice berg or fresh heirloom greens. Do they embellish it with the typical carrot and tomato, or is there something frighteningly English like a turnip, eel, or nutella crumpet tossed in.

If I was going to Europe I think I would go to Spain instead. I hear Spain is a very well to do country and beautiful to boot. And don’t forget the Spanish women. Maybe Joe would like to go there as well but he isn’t as popular in that country yet. It’s a shame but I hope he has fun in England. Is Locke & Key popular over in Europe?

Glad you made it safely, Joe. I know you’re working hard, but hope you have some time to take in the sights and culture!

I wanna know how you pronounce that city, Milton Keens or Milton Kanes.
I haven’t asked Andrew. He hasn’t called back since we were interrupted by Sir Ernest-he really is a Sir too, unfortunately-and he interrupts conversations as much as he can.
Andrew never calls me at his house, I don’t know why. He’s not married anymore. He hasn’t been married since I’ve known him, but he doesn’t talk about that either.
Anyway, he’s pronounced so many place names for me, I have a feeling he’s going to get tired of doing it. That’s why I try to ask him pronunciations only every once in a while.

Just started reading Horns, and was up too late last night because of it! Great job so far.
So do you have time to write when you’re doing book tours, or is the crunch of travel and reading and signing too much?

What I want to know is who is Lulu? She’s doing quite a few signings this month at Waterstone’s and I want to see what kind of reader turn out she gets. Bet she doesn’t give away free red horns. How about a double bill? A little Hill mixed with some Lulu? Could be very interesting while riding the shopping cart naked while trying to find your Fabulous!!!

Not to sound funny, but my best friend named her cat Lulu. She’s one of those fluffed up really beautiful kitties-w/ a princess attitude to match. She’s one of the most gorgeous animals I’ve ever seen, b/c my friend takes great care of her.
That cat’s the most pampered pet I’ve ever met. She has a tree with “condos” on every level, about three tiers altogether.
She loves to climb it, though, and climbing the cat tower keeps the drapes free of her claw marks.

Have a bloody good time in England, old chap.

Was a lot of fun at the reading/signing. It was especially nice being at a signing that I wasn’t working at. You’re a funny guy, hope you remember to check out “Filth Kiss”, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, it’s disturbed every single person I’ve passed it along to so far.

Locke & Key #4 is out tomorrow. YAY!

We used to have a cat named Lulu. It ran away. Or was eaten by mountain lions. Probably lives with Vicki’s best friend now. Yeah. I like that scenario much better.

Live web chat with Joe today! http://ow.ly/1n7CJ
My problem is I can’t figure out the time difference…1:30 GMT? What’s that in Eastern Time?

Hey Joe. Was really cool talking to you on the Liverpool Post website today. Hope you have an awesome tour. Maybe one day you could make it to Wales, huh? That would be sweet.

Hey Joe,
Great gig last night in Birmingham. It was interesting to learn that the detail is in the devil!
Also, many thanks for signing all my stuff – much appreciated.
Just one final thing – how did you do that trick with the lighting?
March 17th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
Mark Masztal: FYI Lulu was the wife of Bee Gee Maurice Gibb and was a 60s “pop star”. Probably her best known US hit was “To Sir, with Love” from the film on the same name starring Sidney Poitier.
Given that she is 61 years old, your suggestion lacks a little dignity!
Viki: It is pronounced Milton Keens and is one of the very few modern towns in the UK that is built on the grid system so beloved of your town planners in the US.
March 17th, 2010 at 8:10 pm
Depending where you are in England, it’s either 4 or 5 hours earlier than the time on the East Coast USA.
Where Andrew lives it’s 5 hours away. He calls me when he’s on his lunch break, which is 1PM, and it’s always 8AM where I am.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t called for a week and a half (no thanks to Sir Ernest) and I can’t afford to call him. International calls are expensive. I found out when I discovered how much it would cost to call him.
Besides, all the times I’ve tried calling have been a nightmare. Once, I got the wrong country. When I got the right country, I got a wrong number. Ended up talking to a person I didn’t want to know.

Just back from the Leeds signing – what a really nice fella…managed to get my Locke and Key graphic novels signed as well. Cheers Joe!
Got it from good authority from OK Comics in leeds that Locke and Key #4 should be with us next week…..
Hope you enjoy issue 1 of American Vampire Joe…..

I’m going to buy all the comics you write, I just need more time to do it.
I went and bought Albus Dumbledore’s and Severus Snape’s wand from Warner Brothers. I was going to get Hermione’s too, but I ran out of money.
With all the movies I bought, they were inserts of more stuff you can buy, which my former husband always insisted was the reason they put the ads there in the first place. To get people like me to buy their products.
Well, I can’t help it. How many places will you be able to find a replica of the wands used in the movie.
Alan Rickman played Snape. I wonder if the wand I get will be one he actually touched. Probably not.
But it would be awesome if it were.

You are my favorite author by far. You are so talented. I am sad when I get to the end of a book written by you. Please keep them coming! – November
